About the Case:
On July 11, 2021, at 0330 hours, officers were dispatched to a shooting involving a white Toyota Avalon with NC tags. Officers located Person in the front passenger seat of the white Avalon suffering from gunshot wounds. The driver of the vehicle, Tyshon Smith, was located inside the 7-11 store suffering from gunshot wounds as well. Person was transported to the hospital where he was in critical condition and paralyzed from the neck down and reliant upon a ventilator until his death on February 11, 2022. Witnesses described a possible suspect vehicle as a dark colored Dodge Charger.
