About the Case:

On June 6, 1976, at about 3:40am, Chester Eugene Talton was discovered lying on the side of the roadway (Rt. 58 Bypass / Rt. 58 Business). Talton was unconscious and found to be suffering from severe head injuries. He was transported to Obici Hospital then to Norfolk General. After several days, Talton died due to the grievous injuries he sustained. An autopsy listed the cause of death as a homicide by blunt force trauma. The initial investigation in 1976 produced no suspect arrests. Investigations in the 1980s as well as the late 1990s also yielded no arrests. Talton’s murder remains unsolved.
