About the Case:
At 12:25 pm on 5/23/20 a call was received of a body of a white male discovered on the shoulder of Wilderness Road (Rt.606), just East of Interstate 77,exit 62, Bastian, VA. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation was contacted to conduct the death investigation. Through further investigation body was identified as Bruce M. Ritchie. Mr. Ritchie was traveling from Augusta, GA and returning home from a business trip. From information gathered Mr. Ritchie stopped at exit 62, off Interstate 77 to rest at approximately 10:00 pm on 5/22/20. Mr. Ritchie was discovered laying in a grassy area near his rental car. The cause of death was stabbing.
