Perry had been missing since September 22, 1989, after being dropped off, by a friend, at the Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge, Virginia. At the time of her disappearance Perry lived in a trailer park, with her boyfriend on Joshua Road in Stafford, Virginia. She battled with poly-substance dependency and this may have played a role in her death.
